Financial Accountant

I'm partnering with an ambitious, acquisitive group in Dudley to recruit a Financial Accountant into their central finance team, reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller.

The business is growing through acquisition and this role sits right at the centre of it. You'll lead the accounting on new deals and help bring acquired businesses into the group, exposure that will set you up well for a Financial Controller path.

What you'll be doing

• Owning the group monthly consolidation and balance sheet reconciliations
• Leading acquisition accounting, including purchase price allocations and fair value assessments
• Supporting the integration of acquired businesses into group processes and controls
• Acting as the FRS102 lead, assessing complex transactions and preparing technical papers
• Producing daily cash reporting and maintaining cash flow forecasts
• Supporting partner accounting, profit allocation and tax reporting information
• Working with auditors on statutory accounts and technical matters
• Driving improvements in controls, reporting and finance processes

What they're looking for

• ACA or ACCA qualified, ideally in a practice environment
• Strong, practical FRS102 knowledge
• Balance sheet reconciliation experience in a multi entity or complex environment
• Cash flow reporting and forecasting experience
• Confident explaining technical accounting to non finance colleagues
• Partner accounting or partnership experience is a bonus, not essential

The package

• Salary up to £60,000 plus benefits
• Hybrid working, two days a week in the Dudley office
