Job DescriptionAlliance Automotive Group UK & Ireland is a leading distributor of passenger and commercial vehicle parts to over 36,000 independent garages, franchise networks and public services throughout the UK and Ireland. Our strategically designed network, supported by strategic acquisitions, positions us as a market leader in providing automotive parts distribution services to the aftermarket.Supported by a top-tier logistics network comprising over 300 local stores, 20 Regional Distribution Centres, our state-of-the-art 1 million square foot National Distribution Centre, and a workforce of over 6,000 colleagues, our business model prioritises maintaining an extensive and readily available product range to uphold the quality of our service offerings.The PositionThe Credit Control manager oversees a team of both geographically dispersed and centrally based credit controllers. The continued growth of the group is as such that there is now a need to increase the central team of 14 staff.The accounting system is an industry specific package called MAM. This is a windows system and is intuitive for users familiar with any other windows based accounting package. Training will be provided as required.Areas of responsibility will include:Contacting business customers when payment is overdueNegotiating repayment plans if people are in financial difficultiesSetting up and maintaining customer files (HO)Processing paymentsStarting legal proceedings if debts are not paid within an agreed time (HO)Liaising with internal businessesProduce & send collection letters (HO)Assist in the notification of new business acquisition customers of changes in ownership (HO)Bank reconciliationsProducing customer statementsThe ideal candidate is likely to have:good spoken and written communication skillsan assertive but tactful mannercalmness under pressurean organized and methodical approachthe ability to work to strict deadlinesgood negotiation skillsthe ability to explain financial matters firmly and clearlygood mathematical skillsadministrative and computer skillNot the right fit?
