An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant to join a busy finance team, providing professional financial support across a range of services.

Working closely with budget managers and senior stakeholders, you will lead on budget monitoring, forecasting, financial reporting and year-end activities. You will provide expert financial advice, support strategic decision-making and help ensure effective financial management across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Produce and monitor revenue and capital budgets

Prepare forecasts, financial reports and management information

Support the preparation of annual accounts and statutory returns

Provide financial advice to managers and stakeholders

Analyse financial performance and identify risks and opportunities

Assist with service planning, budget setting and financial modelling

Support and mentor junior finance staff where requiredThe Ideal Candidate:

CCAB qualified, AAT qualified or equivalent relevant experience

Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting experience

Excellent analytical and communication skills

Ability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders

Experience working within a complex finance environment

Local government finance experience is desirable
