Key Responsibilities

As a Primary School Teaching Assistant based in Merthyr Tydfil, your daily duties will include:

• Providing general classroom support to teachers and pupils within the foundation phase, ensuring smooth lesson delivery.
• Assisting in creating a welcoming, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment tailored to diverse student needs.
• Supporting the delivery of planned lessons and activities, ensuring all pupils are actively engaged and motivated.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and social development among students, promoting a safe and respectful atmosphere.
• Supporting individual pupils' needs to help them reach their full academic and social potential.
• Collaborating with staff to plan and implement tailored work that aligns with curriculum

requirements and sector best practice.

Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful as a Primary School Teaching Assistant in Merthyr Tydfil, you will need:

• Experience working with children, preferably within a primary education environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively support pupils and staff.
• Passion for helping children learn, develop, and achieve their goals.
• A reliable, adaptable, and proactive attitude.
• Ability to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm.
• DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
