Tax Accountant

ASK4 is a private equity backed technology company providing managed internet, smart building technology and IT services to multi-tenanted buildings across the UK and Europe.

As Tax Accountant, you will support the Head of Tax with UK and EU compliance and reporting, covering corporation tax, VAT and other taxes. You prepare the drafts and workings, and the Head of Tax reviews them with you.

What you will do

• Prepare corporation tax computations, and tax provisioning schedules in Alphatax
• Compile the tax provision reporting pack, setting out key judgements points
• Review the Groups quarterly UK VAT returns
• Coordinate EU VAT and corporation tax returns
• Liaise with EU tax agents as key point of contact
• Track EU and Group filing deadlines, and raise any risk early
• Prepare workings for R&D tax credit and capital allowance claims
• Assess Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) exposure
• Support the transfer pricing review
• Opportunity to be involved in wider tax projects

About you

Essential

• Qualified accountant or tax professional (ATT, CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent), or close to qualifying
• Tax compliance experience, including UK corporation tax computations in Alphatax or similar software
• Working knowledge of current and deferred tax provisioning, and UK VAT
• Able to produce well-documented first drafts and flag judgement points before review
• A careful, methodical approach, with the ability to manage several deadlines
• Clear communication skills
• Good Excel skills and comfort with financial data from accounting systems

Desirable

• EU corporation tax and VAT compliance, including working with overseas tax agents
• Familiarity with CIS or transfer pricing
• Experience in a multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction Group
