Senior Principal Urban Drainage Modeller

In this Senior Principal Urban Drainage Modeller role, you act as a senior technical authority across complex urban drainage and wastewater projects. You shape technical direction, build senior client relationships and help grow Stantec’s modelling capability. You work on strategies to improve network resilience, flooding and water quality through advanced hydraulic modelling and innovative digital solutions. The role offers leadership across UK programmes and development of future technical leaders.

• Provide senior technical leadership across urban drainage and wastewater modelling programmes
• Lead studies on wastewater networks, flooding, water quality, pollution management and resilience
• Apply InfoWorks ICM and hydraulic modelling to develop robust solutions
• Provide governance and assurance of modelling approaches and deliverables
• Advise clients and influence investment and strategic decisions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create digital modelling tools
• Lead project delivery including planning, resourcing, and cost estimates
• Support bids, frameworks and business development opportunities
• Mentor and develop modelling teams and future leaders

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Engineering or related discipline
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng) or working towards
• Significant experience leading complex urban drainage or hydraulic modelling projects
• Expert knowledge of InfoWorks ICM and hydraulic modelling for wastewater networks
• Proven track record of technical leadership, governance and assurance
• Strong experience in leading, mentoring and developing technical teams
• Excellent client and stakeholder management to influence senior decision-makers
• Experience contributing to project or programme management, commercial delivery and bids
