Senior Tax Specialist

A leading international company in the Energy sector with operations across multiple countries is seeking a Senior Tax Specialist to join its team in Madrid.

Responsibilities:

• Act as a trusted tax advisor, supporting business decisions, corporate transactions, and strategic initiatives from a tax perspective.
• Ensure compliance with corporate tax obligations and oversee the accurate execution of tax filings and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate closely with Finance teams on tax provisioning, closing processes, and tax-related accounting matters.
• Provide guidance on direct and indirect tax issues arising from day-to-day business activities.
• Manage interactions with tax authorities, including audits, reviews, inspections, and administrative procedures.
• Coordinate the work of external advisors in different countries and monitor the quality and consistency of tax advice received.
• Support international tax projects and transfer pricing initiatives, ensuring alignment with local and global requirements.
• Identify tax risks and opportunities, proposing solutions that support business objectives while maintaining compliance.

Requirements:

• Degree in Law, Economics, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• At least 4 years of experience in corporate taxation, gained in a multinational environment, professional services firm, or advisory practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of corporate income tax, VAT, tax compliance, and tax accounting.
• Experience working in international environments and coordinating with external stakeholders.
• Exposure to transfer pricing matters is desirable.
• Advanced level of English, both written and spoken.
• Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems; SAP knowledge is considered an advantage.
