Senior Payroll Specialist

Overview

Portfolio Payroll is working with a leading business services organisation to bring in an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to support and strengthen their growing payroll function.

Responsibilities

• Leading the monthly payroll cycle across a large, multi‑entity group
• Acting as the key escalation point for complex queries
• Ensuring full compliance across tax, pensions, benefits and employment legislation
• Supporting ongoing transformation, automation and process improvement activity
• Coaching and developing the wider payroll team
• Working closely with People, Finance and external partners to resolve payroll matters efficiently

Qualifications

• Proven background managing complex or high‑volume payrolls
• Strong knowledge of pay, tax, pensions and statutory requirements
• Confident using iTrent, Sage and advanced Excel
• Leadership experience with the ability to support and develop others
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
