Senior Bookkeeper

Our client, a well-established firm of accountants based in harrow, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Bookkeeper (ten years+ experience) to join their team on a permanent basis. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of clients, overseeing both bookkeeping and payroll functions to ensure accurate and timely financial records. You will supervise junior staff, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and collaborate closely with the firm's accountants to support overall financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills,excellent interpersonal skills detailed knowledge of bookkeeping and payroll processes, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will be expected to maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency, adhering to deadlines and client specifications.

• Proven experience in bookkeeping and payroll within a firm of accountants
• Experience in a client facing role
• Ten years experience in a firm of accountants, in a book keeping team, or outsourcing team.
• Strong understanding of accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to manage and lead a team of junior staff
• Excellent inter-personal skills
• Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance standards
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all work
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
