Are you an experienced finance professional with treasury management expertise looking to broaden your strategic finance skills within a large and complex organisation?We are recruiting a Senior Accountant - Treasury to join a highly regarded Corporate Finance team within a progressive local authority in the East of England.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with treasury experience who wants to develop a wider skill set across capital financing, long-term financial planning and strategic financial management.

This is far more than a traditional treasury role.Whilst treasury management will be a key part of your responsibilities, you will also gain exposure to a broad range of high-profile financial activities, making this an ideal move for someone looking to accelerate their professional development within local government finance.

The team is committed to developing talent and operates a collaborative approach, providing opportunities to build expertise across multiple finance disciplines rather than becoming siloed in a single area.

Treasury management activities include borrowing, investments and cash flow forecasting.

Support the management and financing of a significant annual capital programme.

Maintain prudential indicators and support statutory treasury and capital reporting

requirements.

Contribute to the production of the Statement of Accounts.

Prepare reports and financial analysis for senior leadership teams, members and key stakeholders.

Support the Medium-Term Financial Strategy and long-term financial planning.

Develop financial models and business cases to support major investment decisions.

Work closely with external treasury advisors, auditors and finance colleagues across the organisation.

Drive continuous improvements to financial systems, controls and reporting processes.

What you'll need to succeed

I am particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have treasury management experience gained from:

Local Government

NHS or wider Public Sector organisations

Housing Associations

Universities

Large commercial organisations with treasury responsibilitiesYou will ideally be:

CCAB or CIMA qualified, or actively studying towards a professional qualification.

Experienced in treasury management, borrowing and investment activities.

Comfortable analysing complex financial information and presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Interested in broadening your experience across strategic finance, capital financing and corporate accounting.

A proactive team player with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
