Salary: £36,800 rising to £39,847 after training  

Early Shift: Monday to Thursday 6 – 2:15pm Friday 6 – 11:30am                                                                                                  Late Shift: Monday to Thursday 2pm – 10:15pm, Friday 11:30 – 5:00pm

The Role

We are currently seeking Mechanical Fitter's to join a team at Doncaster

This is a hands‑on role focused on carrying out fitting, overhauls and associated mechanical repairs on rail vehicles.

You will work as part of a skilled team, delivering high‑quality mechanical work safely, efficiently and in line with engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out mandatory servicing and mechanical repairs on rail vehicle systems and components.

Understand and work effectively with vehicle mechanical interfaces.

Install, maintain and repair heavy mechanical components 

Carry out mechanical stripping down, re-fitting and repair work to rail vehicles.

Essential:

Proven experience in a mechanical fitting, maintenance or overhaul environment.

Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Strong understanding of mechanical systems and component repair.

A flexible and proactive approach to work.

Commitment to safe working practices.

Desirable:

Previous experience within the rail, automotive, plant or transferable heavy engineering industry.  

Experience working on large sub‑assembly overhaul activities.

NVQ Level 2/3
