Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum

Location: Hybrid Working (3 days office-based)

Job Type: Full-Time

The Opportunity

A growing SME is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function and provide reliable financial reporting, cash flow management and commercial support to senior leadership.

This is a varied role offering responsibility, autonomy and the opportunity to influence decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.

Manage cash flow forecasting, banking and working capital.

Oversee purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control activities.

Lead month-end processes, reconciliations and financial controls.

Manage supplier payments and monitor financial commitments.

Prepare VAT returns and support year-end accounting requirements.

Deliver budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.

Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting.

About You

You will have previous experience in a Financial Controller, Senior Management Accountant or similar finance role within an SME environment.

Key

requirements

Strong management accounts experience.

Cash flow forecasting and financial planning skills.

Knowledge of VAT, financial controls and compliance.

Experience overseeing transactional finance processes.

Advanced Excel and finance systems knowledge.

Ability to present financial information to senior stakeholders.

Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.Accounting qualifications (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) are welcome, although qualified-by-experience candidates will also be considered.
