The Opportunity

The Finance Manager will be responsible for leading the finance function for our US facing sweepstakes business. Based in Europe and reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this role will own the financial operating rhythm of the business, including P&L management, periodic reporting, accounts payable, payroll execution, financial controls, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial finance support.

This is a hands on finance leadership role in a fast moving, 40 person sweepstakes business. The successful candidate will provide clear visibility into business performance, maintain strong financial discipline, support day to day operating decisions, and build the reporting and control environment required to support continued growth. Success requires strong accounting fundamentals, commercial judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to operate confidently in an online gaming, sweepstakes, iGaming, or adjacent digital consumer environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management and P&L Ownership:

• Own the financial management and reporting of the sweepstakes business P&L.
• Provide clear visibility into revenue, cost of sales, operating expenses, contribution margin, EBITDA, cash flow, and key financial movements.
• Partner with the Chief Executive Officer and leadership team to understand performance trends, cost drivers, margin movements, and investment decisions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, and business case development. Identify opportunities to improve profitability, cost control, operating efficiency, and financial accountability.

Reporting and Business Performance:

• Prepare weekly, monthly, and periodic financial reporting for the Chief Executive Officer and relevant stakeholders.
• Develop management reporting packs covering financial performance, operating KPIs, supplier costs, payroll costs, marketing spend, player economics, redemptions, and cash movements.
• Partner with Analytics, Marketing, Product, Operations, Payments, and Customer Support to ensure financial reporting accurately reflects business activity.
• Translate financial data into clear, practical insights that support decision making.
• Improve the cadence, quality, and reliability of financial reporting as the business scales.

Accounting, Controls and Month End:

• Own month end processes, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, journals, and management accounts preparation.
• Maintain accurate accounting records across the business.
• Ensure appropriate financial controls are in place across spend approvals, vendor payments, payroll, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Work with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, and corporate service providers as required.
• Support audit readiness and ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and well documented.

Accounts Payable, Vendors and Payments:

• Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice review, approval workflows, payment scheduling, and vendor reconciliations.
• Maintain strong control over supplier costs, gaming vendor fees, platform costs, marketing invoices, technology costs, and professional services spend.
• Support commercial teams with visibility into supplier economics and cost trends.
• Ensure payments are processed accurately, on time, and in line with approval policies.
• Help maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, service providers, and finance partners.

Payroll and People Costs:

• Execute payroll processes for the Cyprus based team and any other relevant business payroll requirements.
• Coordinate with payroll providers, HR, external accountants, and advisors to ensure payroll is accurate, timely, and compliant.
• Track salaries, bonuses, contractor costs, benefits, employer costs, and other people related expenses.
• Support headcount planning, hiring budgets, and people cost forecasting.
• Provide clear visibility into the cost base of a 20 person operating business.

Sweepstakes and Gaming Finance

• Develop strong financial visibility across the sweepstakes operating model, including revenue, promotional spend, bonuses, redemptions, chargebacks, payment costs, supplier fees, and customer value.
• Support reporting on player economics, redemption behaviour, payment performance, and promotional efficiency.
• Partner with Payments, Risk, Compliance, CRM, VIP, and Customer Support to understand financial impacts across the player journey.
• Help ensure finance processes are appropriate for a US facing sweepstakes business operating in a highly regulated and fast evolving environment.
• Coordinate with Legal and Compliance where financial processes intersect with regulatory, tax, payments, or sweepstakes related requirements.

Leadership and Operating Discipline:

• Act as the finance lead for the sweepstakes business.
• Serve as a trusted financial partner to the Chief Executive Officer.
• Establish financial discipline, operating cadence, and accountability across the business.
• Lead finance related cross functional initiatives from planning through execution.
• Build scalable processes that allow the business to grow without losing financial control or visibility.

Success in the First 12 Months

• Reporting cadence: Establish reliable weekly and monthly financial reporting for the sweepstakes
• business.
• Performance visibility: Improve visibility into P&L, cash flow, supplier costs, marketing spend,
• redemptions, payroll, and operating expenses.
• Financial discipline: Create stronger budget ownership and financial accountability across business
• functions.
• Month end quality: Deliver accurate month end reporting and strengthen core accounting processes.
• Scalable controls: Build scalable accounts payable, payroll, approval, and reconciliation processes.
• Commercial partnership: Provide the CEO with clear insight into key financial drivers and become a trusted partner to the leadership team.

Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, FP&A, commercial finance, or financial management.
• Experience owning or materially supporting P&L reporting, management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Strong accounting fundamentals, including month end close, reconciliations, accruals, cost control, and management reporting.
• Experience managing accounts payable, vendor payments, approval workflows, and expense control.
• Experience executing or overseeing payroll processes.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets capability, with the ability to build clear financial models, trackers, and reporting packs.
• Ability to work directly with senior leadership and translate financial information into practical business insight.
• High attention to detail, strong ownership mindset, and comfort operating in a fast paced growth environment.
• Must be based in Cyprus or willing to be based in Cyprus.
• Comfortable supporting a US facing business and working with some time zone overlap when required.

Preferred:

• Experience in iGaming, online casino, sportsbook, sweepstakes, social casino, fintech, payments, or digital consumer businesses.
• Sweepstakes gaming experience is highly desirable.
• Experience working with US facing online gaming or consumer businesses.
• Experience with payment processing, redemptions, chargebacks, bonus costs, player economics, or gaming supplier fees.
• Experience working with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, payroll providers, and corporate service providers.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CPA, CA, or equivalent.
• Experience in a growth stage or scaling business where processes are still being built.
