Pertemps are recruiting for a Communications Assistant for our public sector client. 

Role – Communications Assistant

Location – Edinburgh City Centre

Working arrangements – Hybrid working – 2 days per week in the office (Wednesday and 1 other day) 

Working hours – Monday – Friday, 36 hours per week 

Pay rate - £16.07 - £18.34 per hour (depending on experience) 

Start date – immediate 

Duration – Until end of March 2027

We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Communications Assistant to support the delivery of creative campaigns and communications activities across a wide range of platforms. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working on exciting projects, from social media campaigns to brand promotions, and who wants to contribute to communications initiatives that make a difference for people.

Key responsibilities

Support the development and delivery of creative marketing/communications/media campaigns across digital and traditional channels.

Assist in managing content for online channels including social media and web.

Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and effective project delivery.

Monitor campaign and communications activity performance and gather insights for reporting and optimisation.

Assist in creating engaging marketing and media/PR materials such as blog posts, graphics, and video content.

Contribute ideas for improving campaign effectiveness and audience engagement.

What we’re looking for:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

A keen eye for detail and a creative mindset.

Experience in digital marketing, social media, or content creation is a plus.

Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

A passion for creative writing and delivering messages that resonate with audiences.

An eye for design and experience in producing materials in Word, PowerPoint and Canva is essential as is experience in creating content, filming and editing videos
