THE OPPORTUNITY:

Get Recruited is partnering with a growing, independently owned insurance brokerage to recruit a Commercial Account Handler in Wakefield. You'll work alongside a senior broker, supporting an established commercial book generating approximately £500,000 in income.

For a Commercial Broker or Insurance Account Handler who enjoys technical work and building client relationships, this offers exposure to varied mid-market and larger commercial risks.

You'll join a supportive team where your input is welcomed, with the opportunity to develop your knowledge through more complex cases.

THE COMMERCIAL ACCOUNT HANDLER ROLE:

Your experience as a Commercial Broker or Insurance Account Handler will help you:

Support a senior broker with the day-to-day servicing of an established mid-market portfolio, keeping client requirements and outstanding work on track.

Handle commercial renewals, gathering up-to-date risk information and liaising with insurers to obtain appropriate terms.

Negotiate cover and terms with insurer partners, confirming placements and checking the resulting documentation.

Process mid-term adjustments, ensuring changes to clients' businesses and insurance requirements are accurately reflected in their cover.

Respond to client queries, explaining policy information clearly and keeping clients informed as matters progress.

Work across a broad range of commercial classes, including larger and more complex risks requiring careful attention.

Maintain accurate client records and documentation to support a consistent standard of service.

Build productive relationships with clients, insurers and colleagues, contributing ideas to improve how the team works.

THE PERSON:

Experience as a Commercial Account Handler, Commercial Broker or Insurance Account Handler, with a solid grounding in commercial insurance.

Broad commercial lines knowledge and confidence dealing with policy documentation and cover queries.

Comfortable handling larger, more complex risks. Previous mid-market exposure is preferred.

Organised and proactive, with the ability to prioritise renewals, adjustments and ongoing client enquiries.

Clear communication skills and an approach that builds trust with clients and colleagues.

CII qualifications would be beneficial, but are not essential.
