Location: Pitsford, Northamptonshire
Salary: 30,000 - 60,000 (doe) + quarterly, target based bonus

Are you an experienced Practice Accountant looking to take the next step in your career? Our client, a well-established and growing, modern accountancy practice, is seeking a proactive Client Accountant to join their team and take ownership of a varied portfolio of SME clients.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong client relationships, providing commercial advice, and delivering a high-quality accounting service within a collaborative and supportive environment.

About The Role

As a Client Accountant, you'll be responsible for managing your own portfolio of clients, acting as their trusted advisor and ensuring all accounting, tax and compliance matters are handled efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Preparing and reviewing year-end statutory accounts.
• Producing monthly and quarterly management accounts.
• Preparing corporation tax computations and returns.
• Reviewing bookkeeping and VAT returns completed by junior team members.
• Acting as the primary point of contact for client queries and financial advice.
• Conducting client meetings to discuss business performance and growth opportunities.
• Building and maintaining long‑term client relationships.
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.

About You

• Strong knowledge of statutory accounts preparation and management accounts.
• Experience managing your own portfolio of clients.
• Good understanding of corporation tax and VAT.
• Confident using cloud‑based accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks.
• ACA, ACCA or AAT qualified/part‑qualified would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build credibility with clients.
• Commercially aware with a proactive and client‑focused approach.
