Role: Accounts Assistant

Salary: Up to £31,000

Location: Derby DE21

Type: Permanent | Full-Time | Office-Based

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hardworking Accounts Assistant to join our client, a well-established business. You’ll play a key role within the finance team, supporting the day-to-day accounts function and transactional duties, including invoice processing, VAT, CIS and payroll.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase and subcontractor invoices
• Process payroll & subcontractor payments
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers
• Bank reconciliations
• Prepare and submit CIS returns and VAT returns
• Ensure compliance with HMRC and construction industry regulations
• Support month-end and year-end accounting processes
• Provide wider support to the finance team and contribute to ad hoc finance tasks as required

What we’re looking for

• Experience working as an Accounts Assistant or transactional finance role
• Interest in working for a construction business
• Good Excel skills
• A hardworking individual with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
