Policy Manager (Consumer Policy)
Role Description & Overview
The Policy Manager role is a senior role which carries significant responsibilities. We are looking for policy experts who thrive on juggling demanding priorities and can manage policy development in areas outside of their expertise.
You will run the development, delivery and implementation of key policies likely to improve the legal services market in England and Wales. The work will be diverse, fast paced and often high profile. From considering how our regulation can promote access to justice for different people and businesses, to helping to develop and implement our policy positions, making sure our requirements strike the right balance between minimising regulatory burdens, while protecting consumers from harm.
You will need to have a clear understanding of the SRA’s regulatory purpose and approach and of the range of available regulatory tools. You will use policy techniques, engagement, and proficient project management skills to manage policy development on complex issues which may be unfamiliar. As a key part of the role, you will be engaging with stakeholders both internally and externally, including at executive level. You will ensure that our policy work is evidence based and consideration of equality, diversity and inclusion are embedded in this.
