Permanent Remote

Role Description & Overview

Sharp Consultancy are currently working with a well-established and successful manufacturing business based in Sheffield, who are continuing to grow and develop their operations. As part of this ongoing growth, they are looking to appoint a Financial Accountant.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ACA, ACCA or CIMA studier or AAT qualified accountant looking to make their first move from practice into industry. The business is looking for someone who can bring a strong technical grounding from practice, while developing their commercial understanding and gaining hands-on exposure to the financial operations of a manufacturing environment.

Working within a supportive and collaborative finance team, you’ll take ownership of a broad range of financial accounting responsibilities and play an important role in ensuring the business has accurate, timely and meaningful financial information. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues across finance and the wider business, developing a deeper understanding of the commercial drivers behind the numbers.

With a varied remit, this role would suit an accountant who enjoys more than simply producing the numbers and wants to understand how those numbers impact the wider business. You’ll gain exposure across month-end, management accounts, financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting, while also supporting improvements to processes and controls.

The role is particularly well suited to someone currently working in practice who is ready to take that next step into a commercial environment. Your practice background will provide a strong technical foundation, while the business will give you the opportunity to broaden your skill set, develop commercially and develop a long-term career within industry.
