With over £25 million in annual sales and multiple businesses operating within our group, we are entering an exciting phase of growth and are looking to appoint an experienced Finance Director to strengthen our financial operations and drive commercial performance.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a commercially astute, hands-on Finance Director to lead our finance function, strengthen financial controls and improve profitability across the organisation.

Working closely with the CEO, CFO and senior leadership team, you will take ownership of financial operations, including cash flow management, credit control, departmental profitability, management accounts and financial forecasting.

This is not a purely strategic finance position. We are looking for a proactive leader who is equally comfortable developing financial strategy, analysing performance and getting involved in day-to-day financial operations.

You will play a key role in building a disciplined, accountable and commercially focused finance function capable of supporting continued business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance function across multiple businesses, ensuring strong financial controls and operational efficiency.
• Oversee management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Manage company-wide and departmental P&Ls, identifying opportunities to improve profitability and reduce costs.
• Take ownership of cash flow management, working capital and financial forecasting.
• Lead credit control, debtor management and debt recovery strategies to improve cash collection.
• Strengthen financial systems, reconciliations, reporting processes and internal controls.
• Monitor commercial performance, providing financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Ensure financial compliance, accurate reporting and effective management of financial risks.
• Work closely with department heads to establish financial accountability and improve business performance.

About You

We are looking for a confident and commercially driven finance leader with strong technical expertise and a proven track record of improving financial performance.

The ideal candidate will have:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
• Significant experience as a Finance Director, Head of Finance or senior Financial Controller.
• Proven experience managing finance operations within a multi-million-pound business.
• Strong knowledge of cash flow management, credit control, debtor recovery and cost control.
• Experience managing departmental P&Ls, budgets and financial forecasts.
• A successful track record of improving financial controls, processes and profitability.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing finance teams.
• Excellent analytical, commercial and problem-solving abilities.
• Confidence working directly with CEOs, CFOs and senior leadership teams.

Experience working across multiple businesses, complex revenue streams or high-volume financial operations would be particularly advantageous.
