Credit Controller

Salary: Up to £35,000

Location: Northampton

Type: Full-time- Office Based

We're working with a growing and fast-paced business looking to add an experienced Credit Controller to their finance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, taking ownership of a ledger, and playing a key role in improving cash flow and business performance.

You'll be responsible for managing customer accounts, proactively chasing outstanding payments, resolving invoice queries, and maintaining accurate records across the sales ledger. The role offers plenty of autonomy and the chance to work closely with multiple departments to ensure timely collections and smooth account management.

Key Responsibilities

Managing and collecting outstanding debt across an allocated portfolio of accounts.

Building strong customer relationships to secure timely payments.

Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries.

Maintaining accurate account records and collection notes.

Producing aged debt reports and supporting month-end activities.

Working collaboratively with internal teams to resolve issues impacting payment timelines.

Supporting cash flow forecasting with accurate payment information.

What We're Looking For

Previous Credit Control experience.

Strong understanding of debt collection and credit control processes.

Good Excel skills.

Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
