Finance Assistant – Construction Experience & Sage 50 Essential

Location: South Woodford, East London

Working Pattern: Full-time, office-based, 5 days per week

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Finance Assistant to join their team in South Woodford.

The successful candidate must have previous experience working within the construction industry and be confident using Sage 50.

This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced finance professional who can hit the ground running.

Please note: Previous construction industry experience and practical Sage 50 experience are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing purchase and sales invoices.
• Managing purchase ledger and sales ledger activities.
• Reconciling supplier statements and resolving account discrepancies.
• Assisting with bank reconciliations and general bookkeeping.
• Maintaining accurate financial records using Sage 50.
• Monitoring outstanding invoices and assisting with credit control.
• Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and internal colleagues regarding account queries.
• Providing general finance and accounts support to the business.

Essential

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Finance Assistant or Accounts Assistant role.
• Proven experience within the construction industry.
• Hands-on experience using Sage 50.
• A sound understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger and general bookkeeping.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Must be able to commute to South Woodford and work in the office five days per week.
