Audit & Accounts Senior (External Audit Focus)

West End | £45,000 - £50,000 | Full-Time | Office-Based | Working hours: 9:30am - 5:30pm

A long-established and highly respected accountancy practice in West End is seeking an experienced Audit & Accounts Senior to join its growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a traditional, relationship-focused firm that has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality audit, accounting and advisory services to a loyal client base. The role offers significant client exposure and the opportunity to work closely with partners across a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs and corporate clients.

The Role

This position is approximately 80% audit and 20% accounts, making it ideal for someone who enjoys managing external audit assignments while maintaining involvement in accounts preparation and client advisory work.

Key Responsibilities

Audit

Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion.

Conduct risk assessments and develop effective audit strategies.

Review audit work, prepare reports and present findings to clients.

Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.

Liaise directly with partners and clients throughout the audit process.Accounts & Tax

Prepare statutory accounts under UK GAAP and FRS 102.

Prepare and review working papers and financial statements.

Assist with corporation tax computations and returns.

Respond to client accounting and compliance queries.

Liaise with HMRC and other regulatory bodies when required.

About You

ACA or ACCA qualified.

Strong external audit experience gained within an accountancy practice.

Experience leading audits and managing client relationships.

Good technical knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102.

Confident communicator with a professional and proactive approach.

Experience with CCH, Caseware, MyWorkpapers and/or Mercia would be advantageous but is not essential.What's on Offer

Salary of £48,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.
