The Opportunity

Yolk Recruitment is working with a business in Carmarthen to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join its finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong Accounts Payable background who is looking to develop their finance experience within a supportive team environment.

The role will be predominantly focused on Accounts Payable, with responsibility for ensuring invoices are processed accurately and efficiently, supplier accounts are maintained and queries are resolved promptly. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to support the wider finance function where required.

Offering a salary of £30,000 and hybrid working, with two days from home per week available following probation, this position would suit someone looking for their next step within finance.

Key Responsibilities

Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.

Matching, coding and posting invoices to the finance system.

Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies.

Managing supplier queries and maintaining strong working relationships.

Preparing and processing supplier payment runs.

Processing credit notes and allocating payments where required.

Supporting account reconciliations and month-end activities.

Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring transactions are processed in line with company procedures.

Providing general support to the wider finance team as required.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger role.

Strong understanding of the Accounts Payable process.

Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

Confident communication skills, with the ability to liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Good Excel skills and confidence using finance systems.

The ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines.
