Accounts Payable Assistant | Sunderland | Contract until April 2027

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant to join a busy finance team based in Sunderland.

This is a fantastic longer-term temporary opportunity, with the assignment expected to run until April 2027.If you enjoy working in a fast-paced finance environment, have a keen eye for detail and are confident managing high volumes of invoices and supplier queries, this could be a great move for you.

Working as part of the Accounts Payable team, your responsibilities will include:

Processing high volumes of purchase invoices accurately and efficiently

Matching invoices against purchase orders

Coding and inputting invoices onto the finance system

Reconciling supplier statements

Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries

Preparing supplier payments

Liaising with suppliers and internal departments

Maintaining accurate financial records

Supporting the wider finance team when required

Ideally, you'll have previous experience within Accounts Payable/Purchase Ledger and be comfortable working within a busy transactional finance environment.You'll also be:

Accurate, organised and methodical

Confident dealing with suppliers and resolving queries

Comfortable working to deadlines

A good communicator with a proactive approach
