Job Title: Accountant

Location: Inverurie, Aberdeenshire

Duration: 12 months

Pay Rate: £23.00 - £28.50 per hour

Working Pattern: 3 days office-based, 2 days working from home following completion of training.

As an Accountant supporting multiple non-operational ledgers,

you will be part of a finance team responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of financial information to a range of stakeholders.

The primary responsibility of this role is to take ownership of the accurate and timely financial reporting for assigned ledgers. This includes maintaining a fully reconciled balance sheet and fulfilling all SOX reporting obligations associated with those ledgers.

The successful candidate will possess strong time management, organisational, and prioritisation skills to ensure key reporting deadlines are consistently achieved. The role also involves regular interaction with colleagues across multiple locations, making effective communication and collaboration essential.

Key Objectives

• Prepare and submit monthly income statements and fully reconciled balance sheets for assigned UK ledgers.
• Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly SOX compliance documentation.
• Prepare and submit annual statutory audit packs within required deadlines.
• Prepare and submit accurate cash forecasts.
• Prepare monthly VAT returns for assigned UK entities.
• Review and approve payments in accordance with established controls and approval procedures.
• Provide financial information and analysis in response to ad hoc requests.
• Participate in finance and business improvement projects as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the accurate and timely financial reporting for assigned UK ledgers, ensuring all reporting deadlines and control

requirements are met.

• Ensure compliance with SOX

requirements and maintain appropriate supporting documentation and financial controls.

• Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled, reviewed, and fully supported, with outstanding items investigated and resolved promptly.
• Work collaboratively with Finance, Operations, and other stakeholders to resolve accounting and reporting matters.
• Support the integrity and accuracy of financial information and proactively identify and address issues affecting assigned ledgers.
